Who We Are and Our Academy Standards

Horses provide all of us with an opportunity to be passionate about a sport that is both athletic and emotionally engaging. An equine partnership teaches responsibility, empathy, patience, and trust. Riding improves focus, balance, and core strength while emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship.

Specializing in equitation, Carly is a “proper form equals proper function of the horse” advocate. Western, hunt seat, saddle seat, over fences, classical dressage, western/cowboy dressage and even driving; the quality of instruction is profound and catered to each individual rider’s needs. We start by setting achievable goals with consistent strength building exercises.

We believe that horses provide recreational and therapeutic benefits to individuals. We believe that what happens between a horse and its rider is often a magical, and sometimes, an unexplainable experience. We believe that our training, knowledge, and experience with horses and individuals with all levels of riding and individual needs provide a unique opportunity to enhance the quality of life for our clients. We believe that the world looks different from the back of a trusted horse. Our hope is to elevate every rider, of all ages, background and skill levels, that walk through the doors of Scintilla Stables. We believe that horses can aid in the physical, spiritual, and mental development of all humans. We created this program to give our community members a place to develop their self-esteem as well as their muscles. Our doors are open and inclusive to all people wishing to heal and/or develop through horsemanship.

Whether you are a first-time rider or an accomplished equestrian polishing up for your next world championship, Scintilla Stables has the expertise to guide you toward your goals. Our professional instructor approaches teaching with kindness and positive reinforcement for both horse and rider. We realize that all students progress at different levels and adjust our lesson plans accordingly. Because horsemanship is much more than just riding, our students also learn to groom and tack their own horses and how to put them away after lessons. It makes for a better understanding of the horses and what it means to be a responsible caretaker of these noble animals. We view every riding lessons as an educational opportunity.

We offer our clients a safe environment to increase bodily mobility, cognitive reflexes, self esteem, and develop lasting friendships with both two legged and four legged friends alike.
